So as some of you may have seen a while back, I had posted on my Facebook a picture of a drum I was in the process of making.

While back then I thought it was a djembe, we found out when purchasing some goat skin for the head that it was indeed a doumbek! Apparently the shape is Middle Eastern, not African. Regardless, the doumbek went through the wood firing process, had a goat skin head glued to it, and is now playable!

Much to our satisfaction (I have to owe a lot of this process's success to my husband), it plays three different pitches and sounds better than we could have expected!

 Finished with twine!

Just wanted to share this with you all. Hope you enjoy!
