The Smiths // 10.29.16

This time of year is one of my favorites - getting together with family over food and drink always serves as a great reminder of what I'm thankful for. I hope all of you had the opportunity to relax and spend some quality time with the ones you love!

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a wedding of two lovely people and the joining of their families who have incredible love for them both. It was held at the charming Dillon House, and having a view of the state capitol building across the street made for such a unique and cool setting! The day was even more special with first dances for both parents (this was something I hadn't seen before and it was SO sweet), and they finished the night with a lantern release (Kansas wind certainly made that eventful!). Editing photos from the day reminded me of how emotional and beautiful the day was, and I am excited to share some moments with all of you! Bethany and Josh, I'm so happy for you both and I hope your first few weeks of marriage have been full of love. Many congratulations to you!

The Giesys // 7.30.16

I had a blast spending the day photographing the wedding of Kelsey and Jules. This wedding was particularly fun for me because it took place in my hometown, so I got to see many familiar faces throughout the day. It was pretty amazing to see how many people came to celebrate with the happy couple, including Willy the Wildcat who made a guest appearance at the reception! K-State was a big theme for these two (you can see their engagement shoot at the KSU football stadium here)!

It's always a privilege to be a part of someone's wedding day, and I have to say I was extremely impressed with this bride. Somehow throughout the craziness of the day (and in the weeks leading up to it) Kelsey managed to be super organized, encouraging, laid-back, and flexible all at once. She took such good care of me and Queren (shoutout to my awesome second shooter!) and made sure we were comfortable, despite it being her special day. And she managed to look so stunning the entire time! Seriously, though - see for yourself! Needless to say, it was such a fun and festive celebration. Thank you for letting me be a part of it all, Kelsey and Jules. Many congratulations to you both!!
